spinne

Spinne is an intimate ritual/performance piece that synthesizes embodied gestural movement, constructed sound and channeled collective presence in exploration of manifested archetypal mythology. Exploring the shadow symbolism of the spider, creation and destruction, and weaving/ web-spinning as metaphor and depth meditation, the artist enacts spinne in weaving caution tape across the unfinished basement eaves and crevices, following the haphazard patterning of black widow spider web, amidst shadowy chromatic light-scape. Atmospheric sound created by Bauer amplifies through the underground space, adapting chords of Danzig's “Mother” composed through slow droning synthesizer and noise filters.
